Four things people mean by “AI browser”
The phrase covers four different products. Browsentic is the second.
Agentic browsing
The agent acts: it clicks, types, navigates, waits for slow pages and stops before anything that commits. This is what Browsentic does.
A whole AI browser
Comet, Dia, Neon and, until August 2026, ChatGPT Atlas. The agent is built into a browser you have to adopt, along with its search, its profile and its company’s future decisions.
Headless automation
Playwright, Browser Use, a script on a CI runner: a browser nobody is looking at, in accounts nobody is signed in to. A different job, and the wrong tool for your own signed-in work.

What free means here
No paid tier, no API key, no account and no hosted service.
No subscription
Apache 2.0 licensed and open source. There is no paid tier, nothing held back behind one, and no plan to introduce one. The source is on GitHub whatever happens to the project.
No API key
It never calls a model itself. It starts the agent CLI you already signed in to, so the tokens come out of a plan you already pay for, and there is no key to paste anywhere.
No account
Nothing to sign up for, and no telemetry. A fresh install connects to nothing until you pair it yourself, with a code that lasts ten minutes.
No company in the middle
Browsentic Bridge on loopback, your agent, your browser. There is no relay, no hosted runner and no remote browser. The only thing that leaves your machine is what your own agent sends its own provider.

Chrome
Browsentic adds a side panel to Chrome, Brave and Arc and runs it on the agent CLI already on your machine. It brings no model of its own and works in the tabs you are already signed in to.
Firefox
Anthropic, Google and OpenAI ship their browser agents for Chrome. Browsentic runs their agent CLIs in a Firefox side panel, through an add-on signed by Mozilla.
Edge
Edge comes with Copilot, Microsoft’s assistant. Browsentic adds a side panel run by the agent CLI you already have, started by Browsentic Bridge on your own machine.

Is there a free AI browser?
Several AI browsers have free tiers. Browsentic is free and Apache 2.0 licensed, and adds an agent to the browser you already use instead of replacing it. There is no paid tier and no API key. You pay only for the agent subscription you already have, and if you have none, one of the CLIs it supports has a free tier of its own.
What is an agentic browser?
A browser where an AI agent can act on the page as well as talk about it: clicking, typing, navigating, filling forms and waiting for slow pages, while you watch. Browsentic adds this to the browser you already use.
Do I have to switch browsers to use an AI browser?
Not with Browsentic. It works inside the browser you already use, so your profile, extensions, logins and two-factor state stay put. It runs in Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc and other Chromium browsers, and in Firefox through an add-on signed by Mozilla.
Is there an AI browser for Firefox?
The big vendors ship theirs for Chrome. Browsentic has a Mozilla-signed Firefox add-on with the same side panel, running on Claude Code, Codex, Antigravity, Mistral Vibe, Grok Build, Cursor CLI, Qwen Code or OpenCode from your own machine. Nine tools need Chrome’s debugger and are absent there, and the agent is never offered them.
Does an AI browser need an API key?
Most want one, or a subscription to the vendor whose browser it is. Browsentic needs neither. It starts an agent CLI that is already on your machine and already logged in, so no key is ever typed into a settings field.
Is it safe to let an agent drive my logged-in browser?
Browsentic Bridge classifies every connection by an Origin the browser sets and a page cannot forge, then still requires a pairing token or an origin-bound session key. Every action lands on a timeline you can watch, and anything that reaches another person stops and says what it is about to do first.
